Roedean School (SA) is an independent school situated in Parktown, Johannesburg seeking to appoint a Remedial Teacher with effect from January 2023.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic person of integrity and vision with strong interpersonal skills, and have:
a remedial qualification as well as a SACE Registration Certificate;
an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team;
up to date knowledge on, and experience with administration, scoring and interpretation of educational assessments and the designing and implementation of individual support programmes;
the ability to run study skills programmes for Grade 4-7 students;
RAVE-O trained would be an advantage;
an in-depth knowledge of the reading acquisition process and suitable intervention techniques for readers not achieving age and grade appropriate scores;
the initiative to be able to implement classroom intervention programmes as well as small group and individual therapy programmes; and
a knowledge and understanding of ISASA schools.
