HEAD OF FINANCE JOB

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Finance division and for implementing tactical initiatives to support strategic decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Overseeing and managing the financial operations
Contributing to and participating in strategic and tactical processes in the business, including financial modelling to support new business development, negotiations and other strategic initiatives.
Providing financial analysis and insights to management regarding the historic and forecast performance of the business, through the management accounting process
Maintaining high quality financial disciplines and controls throughout the company and ensuring that measures to mitigate risk are effectively implemented
Developing and maintaining systems, policies and procedures necessary to ensure effective and efficient financial management of the company
Coordinating and facilitating governance and compliance across the company in accordance with industry and the Group’s frameworks in order to monitor and mitigate financial and other risk
Reviewing monthly Group reporting pack balance sheet, income statement, tax and other related schedules
Overseeing the preparation of financial and management reports and ensuring the financial results of the business are complete, accurate and timeously recorded
Ensuring that financial and reporting obligations are met timeously and accurately
Ensuring a sustainable working capital position by applying systematic cash flow forecasting, collection and payment controls and rigorous cash flow management metrics
Continuously identify and implement improvements regarding processes and reporting
Ensuring effective people development and a sustained succession and talent pipeline within the finance function
Being the custodian of profitability and efficiency through overseeing inventory procurement, hedging in line with Group policy and gross margin by management of selling prices

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential: Relevant tertiary qualification and CA (SA) or CIMA
Desirable: Relevant Business – related qualification
Minimum 8 years experience in a financial leadership role managing a medium size finance team.
Experience working in an established retail/fashion, brand/s environment.
Demonstrated and proven track record of implementing and improving accounting systems, processes, management information and financial reporting
Knowledge and experience of financial modelling, near-term forecasting and longer-term budget preparation and analysis
Knowledge and experience in all areas of financial planning, analysis and overall financial management
