Ares Holdings is looking for a Switchboard Operator that will be responsible for supporting businesses by operating switchboards and connecting callers to the appropriate person. May operate PBX, or private branch exchange switchboards, or voiceover Internet protocol switchboards.

Switchboard Operator
Responsible for supporting businesses by operating switchboards and connecting callers to the appropriate person. May operate PBX, or private branch exchange switchboards, or voiceover Internet protocol switchboards.

Responsibilities:
Switchboard and Reception Assistance
• Answer incoming and outgoing calls.
• Transfer calls to relevant extensions.
• Take and relay messages and important information.
• Announce when visitors arrive.
• Perform receptionist functions as needed.
• Maintain and update telephone database.
• Have good product knowledge, understand overall company processes and know where to get information order to deal with queries in a quick and effective manner.
• Be of assistance to the General Managers (Brand Managers)
• Ensure boardroom is prepared for external visitors on arrival. Liaise with Office Cleaner to arrange, water/coffee etc.
• Check courier invoices and POD’s to ensure validity and sign off for payment
• Collect orders from HQ and retail stores
• Be an ambassador to the companies and the brands
• Attend to queries and perform other administration duties as may be allocated from time to time.

Job Requirements
• Grade twelve (12) or equivalent qualification.
• At least (2) years’ experience as a telecom operator or receptionist.
• Driver’s license and own car
