JOB DIMENSION:
To assist the Fleet Manager and Crew Admin staff by providing an effective and functional administration service for seagoing employees. To ensure that the manning of vessels complies with all relevant company policies and maritime regulations; thereby resulting in an efficient operational crewing service within the Crewing Department.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Filing and compiling of sea staff contracts
Administration of all sea going personal files.
Prepare and update crew list for SAMSA medicals
Administration, submission, tracking and filing of all WCA documentation
Tracking and filing of all crew allotments
Prepare all SAMSA documentation for revalidation and conversions
Prepare and update vessel files for each trip and safety surveys
Update the crew office notice boards and inform them of sailing days
Wage office documentation to be delivered within 24 hours after vessel sailing, including crew changes
Assist with all onboarding requirements of pre-joining routines and new joining crew for medical assessments /screening
Liaise with training coordinator regarding training needs of crew and ensure compliance with the SAMSA, HACCP and Fisheries regulations for seagoing staff.
Assist and ensure café, gear and consumables are captured on the NAV system
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Matric or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s Licence
Must be able to work under pressure and in a team
Must be able to multi-task
Accurate, attention to detail
Good Administrative skills, computer literacy, especially Microsoft Excel
Medically fit and able to work long hours
