The Alumni Ambassador in Development is a part time contract role that will  support the Development Team’s efforts to create meaningful and inspiring engagement opportunities for our external supporters. Through this experience, you will learn the language and strategy of non-profit fundraising — and get a behind-the-scenes look at designing and branding development communications, strategizing financial operations, and curating donor stewardship. We are looking for someone who is excited about identifying new and inventive ways to share Global Citizen Year’s impact! You will play a critical networking role on the team, leveraging your unique experience as an alum to forge ties between our students, our alums, and our donors.

We are looking for a creative storyteller who has a knack for content creation, an eye for inspiring stories, and an excitement for working with a team. 

YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPACT

Manage complex Development infrastructure: collaborate with a large remote team to identify and execute effective communications strategies. 

  • Track donor and donor prospect relationships in Salesforce 
  • Collaborate on designing targeted fundraising campaigns on Canva 
  • Curate and streamline alumni-specific content on Flickr

Create targeted development collateral: act as a liaison between the Development and Marketing teams to build out inspiring digital content

  • Collaborate on alumni video highlights to share with outside supporters
  • Draft heartfelt appreciation comms for committed supporters
  • Design new and inventive design assets to use in future campaigns

Co-create an inaugural Alumni Development campaign: work closely with Development Team leadership to build out a first-time campaign

  • Dream up and strategize the new Alumni Giving Community
  • Build out targeted fundraising assets that engage and invigorate our alums
  • Join the Global Community Engagement team to execute your strategy

The following skills are required:

  • Ability to collaborate with a remote team across multiple time zones
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent tech management skills (e.g. managing complex files, working across several softwares and platforms, tracking complex communications channels)

Bonus points if have/are:

  • Familiar with any design software (e.g. Canva, InDesign, iMovie, Photoshop)
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRMs

POSITION LOGISTICS

Location: Global Citizen Year is a fully remote organization and accepts applications from anywhere in the world.

Timeline: The deadline for this application is 14 October 2022; the ideal start date is 01 November 2022. This is a part-time contract role that will run for 16 weeks from November 1, 2022 – February 17, 2023.

Compensation: The salary for this role is $20/hour, and the position will require 10-15 hours per week. We adjust hourly rates based on cost of living differences from the United States.
