Job Description
Woolpert Africa is based in South Africa and offers extensive high accuracy lidar, imagery and remote sensing experience, as well as airborne topographic, hyper spectral, and thermal survey and mapping. We provide mapping services for engineering, infrastructure, mining, mapping, agriculture and environmental sectors in more than 45 African countries. We believe great companies are built from exceptional people and amazing clients. Because of our growth, our Cape Town office is seeking Geospatial Technician Trainee’s on a six month contract.
Successful candidates will be trained on the following:
Project Execution:
Receives project instruction, scope of works and all available, relevant information from Team Lead;
Executes assigned tasks in accordance with planned approach and within planned timelines. This includes, but is not limited to:
image editing using software packages such as Photoshop and Global mapper;
ortho rectification;
DEM/DSM creation and editing;
Submits regular progress reports to supervisor.
Information Management and Administration:
Records times and activities on projects; and
Completes and submits company required administration such as timesheets and progress reports.
General:
Enhances department and organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing tasks in an efficient and effective manner;
May need to work beyond normal offices hours from time to time
Minimum Qualification and experience:
Matric
Computer literate
Geography, Mathematics and Science will be an advantage
Please also note that the monthly stipend for the training program will be R 6 500.00 monthly
